Latina/o LGBTQ Youth–Honor Family Members Who Have Supported You!
Introduction: Somos Familia supports Latino families with children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) and conducts education to create family and community acceptance. The group was started by two mothers to support other families with similar experiences. This year we are celebrating our 5th Anniversary “Salir Adelante” (Moving Forward) where we will celebrate Latina/o LGBTQ youth and honor their family members that have been supportive in their journey and throughout life. Honorees will be recognized at the “Salir Adelante” 5th Anniversary Celebration on August 11, 2012 in Oakland California.
